The film takes place in Afghanistan, where the US Marine Corps receives a mission to transport provisions through the desert. The first difficulties arose in the middle of it - it was a mine, skillfully disguised as a pile of garbage on the side of the road. The newly elected young commander, who is expecting a pregnant wife at home, decides that it is better to wait for the sappers and continue on. But one of the team members has patience, after which he independently neutralizes the mine and the caravan continues on its way. Further, a detachment of marines meets miraculously surviving people from fur seals who ask for help in conducting an important operation - removing a girl named Anush from the combat zone. Soon, after deciding to continue, cars fall under the Taliban shelling. The Marines suffer losses in the number of several soldiers and continue the march on foot. After another shelling of the Taliban, the last of the fur seal squad was killed, who urgently asks to save the girl at all costs. Anush, in turn, feeling guilty for the death of the guys from the detachment, tells the story of his persecution. Further, the detachment moves to the nearest city, where it is again ambushed. The Taliban, who prevailed quantitatively over the Marine Corps, manage to steal Anush. Understanding the role of the girl in this war and the fact that she is a symbol of freedom for the whole nation, the detachment decides to save her at all costs. The price for this was too expensive - only Anush and two members of the detachment, among whom was the commander, remained in the survivors. No gratitude from the heads of the military base can be compared with the loss of the young commander, because all its members were his friends.
