In 1983, Sudan launched a fierce war between the northern and southern parts of the state on the basis of a lack of natural resources and religious differences. The war reached such immense proportions that after four years, thousands of citizens were forced to flee through the impenetrable and arid desert of the Sahara in search of a peaceful life. Over the years, many found refuge in the United States. One of these refugees was a young guy Mamere. He was very lucky to meet on the path of life a responsive and sympathetic American Carrie. She provided her home in Kansas City to needy Mamaire and his brothers and helped with their employment. In a new city and a new country, the guys have to start life from scratch and try to forget about all the horrors of war.
