The action takes place in the late 50's. XX century in virginia. Married couple Chris and Korin Dolanganger live happily in their home and raise four children. But Chris tragically dies in a car accident and Korin is in a very difficult position. Now she needs to take care of the children alone, provide them, but Korin has never worked and can do nothing. The only way out is to move to Virginia, where Korin's parents live - rich, strict and powerful people. Having learned the news about the wealth of grandparents, the children are happy to anticipate how they can do their favorite things and get a lot of new toys. Naive children had no idea how their elderly relatives would manifest themselves.
