The plot of the film is based on real events that occurred in 2009 in the state of California. Oscar Grant is an exemplary son and a loving father to a little daughter, who just recently turned twenty-two. He was no different from ordinary residents of the city, had his difficulties and dreams. He was a very good father, but his relationship with his wife did not add up to put it mildly. Oscar was very fond of spending time with friends, talking on a variety of topics and discussing life issues. One evening, when he was returning home, for unknown reasons, he was tried to be detained by a policeman who, instead of a stun gun, took out a gun from his pocket.
