In 1959, a daring crime occurred in Bucharest: four men and a woman robbed a bank, appropriating a huge amount of money. This incident greatly outraged the current government. Officials took him as a personal insult, being sure that they were holding people in an "iron fist." But it turned out that free thinking and crime are not relics of the past, but actual problems. The outrage reached a critical point when the robbers were detained: they all turned out to be members of the Communist Party of the country. No one could understand why the heroes of the movie “Closer to the Moon” stole so much national currency, because it is absolutely useless outside the country. Everything became clear when the criminals talked about their motives. They admitted that they decided to steal money from an influential party in order to give hope to the country. The punishment that followed seems absurd: government officials force the robbers to star in a patriotic film about World War II.
