The main character, Russell, was released after serving 20 years in prison. Over the past two decades, the world has changed incredibly, leaving Russell far behind technological and social progress. The hero is trying to adapt to life by working in a diner and living in a small wretched apartment. One night, returning from work, he hears screams from the garbage can. Opening the lid, Russell discovers a living baby in the trash. A man takes a child for himself, trying to figure out how to act in this situation.
