Inspired by real events, the film tells about the life of two priests who managed to try on the clothes of the Pope. Julio Bergoglio succeeded Joseph Ratzinger in office in 2013. Shortly before that, Julio, who is to become Pope Francis, decides to retire. Doubts arise in his soul, and the Pope does not respond to requests for spiritual support. Having announced his intentions, he receives a message from the Pope asking him to come to the Vatican. The hero accepts the invitation, intending to receive approval of the resignation, but the Pope refuses to do so. Refuses to his cardinal Benedict XVI for the reason that he wants to see him as a receiver. But won't he be disappointed in his choice?
