It is incredibly difficult to say goodbye to the old unsuccessful life, but the main character managed to do it effortlessly. At the beginning of the dramatic film "Richard Goodbye", he learned about his fatal disease, which cannot be cured. The doctor immediately informed the man that the prognosis was disappointing. If you start treatment immediately, you will be able to last a maximum of several years. Richard does not want to be in the hospital for months, so he throws away painful thoughts and begins to live the way he has long wanted. The hero works as an ordinary college teacher and receives little money. He has an incredibly old car, which, by some miracle, is still on the move. From the wardrobe - an old suit, clearly in need of replacement. For many years Richard existed, not lived. Now the man is absolutely indifferent that his wife has got herself a lover. The hero is glad even that his daughter turned out to be a lesbian and acts as he sees fit. There is no more sense in wasting energy on work. For the remaining months, the man wants to say goodbye to everything he hates so much. Richard is ready to accept a near death. However, he will leave this world only at the moment when he realizes that he has ceased to be a failure, for whom routine is the only meaning of life.
