Billy and Nico are brothers and sisters who are not that lucky with their parents: their mother is a tumbleweed, a "cuckoo" by nature, who, apart from jokes, but loved ones, are not concerned with the offspring. The father, probably, could be good - if he was not a drunken alcoholic; and children live a busy life, of course, but, in fact, a homeless life. Like their street friend Malik, with whom one day they will go to escape - a great, real adventure ... The new film of the most prominent representative of American independent cinema Alexander Rockwell (by the way, the grandson of the great Russian director, pioneer of animation Alexander Alekseev) is charm itself; not a story of a "dysfunctional" family, but a poetic comedy about a magical real world, where there are monsters, but there are also miracles. Rockwell achieves a special intimacy of the story, starring his own children, and his wife Karin Parsons in the role of their mother. The guest star here - classic of colorful supporting roles Will Patton playing the father - is as warm and authentic as if he was part of the Rockwell family.
