The new adventures of a terrible ogre, his friends Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and their faithful friends are waiting for the audience in the cartoon "Shrek 3". The green giant, who lived all his life in a hut in the marshes, does not like public life. But the position obliges: after all, he is the husband of the Princess of the Faraway-Predalekogo Kingdom. Moreover, after the death of the father-in-law, he will have to sit on the throne. With this Shrek strongly disagrees, and Fiona does not burn with a desire to become a queen, because they are so nice living in the swamp! Therefore, in order not to move to the palace and not lead a boring royal life, the spouses decide to find at least somebody who can give the crown as soon as possible.
The pretender to the fairytale throne is Prince Artie, a young man unsure of himself and a loser from losers. While he doubts for a long time whether he is worthy to become king, Prince Charming seizes power in the kingdom and sends underground Fiona and her friends. Now Shrek's worries are added - he must save his beloved, punish the upstart Charming, and above all, raise from Artie this king.
