During World War II, Germany prospered and grew in power. After the end of the war, the situation changed dramatically. Chaos reigned in the country - everything collapsed, thousands of citizens died because of hunger, and no one even thought that it was possible to return to well-being. In the center of the plot is Lewis Morgan - a native of Britain, an experienced military man. The main character of the melodrama "Aftermath" is temporarily appointed mayor of Hamburg to see what he is capable of. At first, the man doubted his own capabilities. What can be done with a city from which there is almost nothing left? Despite doubts, Morgan and his wife move to a mansion owned by a German architect. The owner of the estate lives here with his own daughter. An extremely tense relationship develops between hosts and guests. The thirst for revenge still dominates the minds of people. It is for this reason that most of the riots occur. But Lewis sticks to the order and tries to do his job without thinking about the sad events of the past. Many tasks await the man, the sole purpose of which is to raise Hamburg from the ruins.
