Documentary film Minimalism. Now is the less time (2021) from Netflix was created in order to show viewers a new view of consumption, to teach them what is superfluous in life and what the minimum number of things will make a person no less happy. Moreover, according to the longtime authors of this project Joshua Fields Milburn and Ryan Nicodemus, getting rid of all that is superfluous will help to find something more, make a person much more free and, therefore, add happiness to him. The film does not say that you need to live in poverty and save on everything, that you do not need any things or products in life in order to exist somehow. The story is not about that at all.
The bottom line is that you can and should have expensive things and purchases, but it is absolutely not important to have a large number of them, to chase new products or a large selection. This has a disastrous consequence, unnecessary waste and a large number of completely unnecessary things that are full of the house. If you start with physical things, or rather getting rid of unnecessary and unimportant ones, then a person takes a step towards an inner understanding of what is important for him in life. This allows you to deeply rethink a lot for yourself, including the moral components of life, people and the rest. The film will show all this on the personal experience of real people.
